How important is Symmetry in a diamond?

Im buying a diamond that has Good Symmetry. I know there are Very Good and Excellent diamonds out there. Should I put a lot of consideration with this or is Good Good enough? How important is Symmetry in a diamond?
i suppose it counts if your a professional but if ur just a layman like me then i couldnt give 2 hoots
What u need to look for is color and flaws.

Color is rated on a letter scale D-Z. D being pretty much colorless.

Good diamonds usually stop at letter J anything past J is not a good diamond.

Flaws the scaled is:

Anything past SL2 is not a good diamond.

FL - Flawless

VVS1-2 - Very Very Slightly Imperfect

VS1-2 - Very Slightly Imperfect

SI1-2 - Slight imperfect

I1-3 - Imperfect

Also the bigger the diamond the more chances of flaws so the better rated will jump up in costs pretty quickly. Also make sure when buying a diamond that whoever you are buying the diamond from uses an outside consultant to certify the diamonds. Ask to see a chart of the flaws and that you wish to look at the diamond under the scope after seeing the chart. If they act weird about letting you look at the diamond and a chart leave immediately. well what are you buying the diamond for exactly? In a ring or in a necklace? or just a diamond? this really changes things. if its a ring then it doesn't really matter as much as it would if it were for something more important. Good Symmetry will most likely cost less than Excellent Symmetry. ; )
A diamond's sparkl is cause by the angles and symetry that it is cut

the better the cut and symetry

the more the diamond will sparkle

also, there are 3 characteristics store look for in a diamond

color

symetry(or sprkleness)

shape

so symetry is definetly a factorHow important is Symmetry in a diamond?
In the real world very few diamonds are perfectly symmetrical, but symmetry is less important to the overall beauty of a diamond than the critical facet proportions. You may never notice any difference between diamonds with Ideal, Excellent Very Good or even some Good symmetry diamonds.

Hope I Helped!!
Usually symmetry is 1 of the main selling points %26amp; the more symmetrical, the better. But it's up to you to decide whether it looks good enough.
I would think symmetry affects how the diamond sparkles. It depends on what you are buying it for, as far as is good good enough. If you want to make an investment then get the best you can, if not then sure.
Symmetry is very important in a Diamond as it adds to the value of it and I suggest that you go to a Reputable shop if you are goingto buy one
Symmetry is VERY important in a diamond!
yes symetry is very impoetant if its not equal it will not look shiny or as good as other diamonds
Don't go both of the line..... Consider quality too.... You want a diamond that is going to shine..... SI2 or better! Don't go under that
very.
