What percentage difference between appraisal price and actual cost would be considered great for diamond ring?

I'm saying, if you buy a diamond ring for $10,000 what would you want it to appraise for? Would a $20,000 appraisal be unheard of? Someone please break this down for me.What percentage difference between appraisal price and actual cost would be considered great for diamond ring?
Appraisals need to be made for full replacement value. This means it should be at full retail value. Since nobody sells diamonds at full retail value (cost * 2.5 about), usually appraisals wind up being about double what you paid for the ring. What percentage difference between appraisal price and actual cost would be considered great for diamond ring?
they only can give you at most 10% more than the price you buy. normally, they should give you the same price!
