Where can I FIND nesting material for my Diamond Doves?

I gave my two diamond doves coconut fibers but they don't seem to want to take it. So I want to know where I will find the right nesting material. I read that sisal, bermuda grass and orchard grass work but I want to know if I can find them. All I have in my backyard is a bunch of clovers. In my front yard is grass but I don't know if it is the right one or not.

Please help!Where can I FIND nesting material for my Diamond Doves?
All the requirements of a Diamond Dove For nesting are some very fine twigs or a shallow dish. they do not use Coconut fibre or even grass as a breeder of these and their mutations for many years this is all I gave them to build their nests.Where can I FIND nesting material for my Diamond Doves?
hey, well the first thing you should know is NEVER, under ANY circumstances EVER take ANY plants from outside and give it to your bird.

Why?

because, if someone mows your lawn or you do it yourself (and im sure you get your grass cut..) it releases chemicals that are harmful for birds.

And even IF you get your grass cut and not mowed, toxic things from outside still come onto the plants. You can never be too sure weather or not something is bad or good, so what i think is good

is

you can try

-using shredded PLAIN paper(i did it for my birds, and they successfully bred)

-grow your own grass(any kind will work..)

-buy some grass from a shop that is already almost grown..(with no chemicals in it, so ask the sales person first.)

and remember if you want to grow your own grass, i would go for it because grass grows quickly, so it wouldn't take a long time for you to have some grass to use :)

Good luck with the nest!Where can I FIND nesting material for my Diamond Doves?
At a local pet store. It may cost under $10.00. It a lot safer then the stuff you find outside of your house.
