How closely should a pair of diamond earrings match in size?

I bought a 3/4 carat pair of diamond earrings, I can see that one diamond is smaller and sets lower in the setting. Is this normal or not?How closely should a pair of diamond earrings match in size?
Diamonds are matched and paired when they are made into earrings, basically, they should be very similar in carat, color, cut and clarity. They should be mounted with the same styles, thus you are not supposed to tell the difference with your naked eyes.How closely should a pair of diamond earrings match in size?
