What's the difference between Pokemon Diamond, Pearl and Platium?

are they all the same like when the orginal pokemon blue, red, and yellow came out on game boy color? blue and red is like diamond and pearl. Platinum is the newer one like yellow?... I havent played since fire red and the green version for nintendo advance.... so im kinda behind :( but i plan on buying a dsi xl for christmas and i wanna catch up!|||Yes, they are the 4th generation version of Red, Blue and Yellow. Every generation has the 2 main games, which have differences in which Pokemon appear as well as (in some) which legendaries you battle and slight story line differences, such as Teams Magma and Aqua in generation 3.

Red %26amp; Blue; Yellow

Gold %26amp; Silver; Crystal

Ruby %26amp; Sapphire; Emerald

Diamond %26amp; Pearl; Platinum

And now, Black %26amp; White, with the extension not yet revealed.

The main difference you'll find is the section that focuses on Palkia and/or Dialga. In separate games, one or the other will appear to you, and in Platinum they both will. Platinum also has a whole bunch of other Pokemon (I think it's close to 60 of them) added to the Regional Pokedex, and more legendaries you can battle, as well as the Distortion World becoming available. There are many gameplay changes and storyline changes, but it is essentially the same as the other 2, only adjusted, as usual.|||Diamond, Pearl and platinum are very close to the same game except for some small differences later in the game. In Diamond, the theme pokemon of the game is Dialga, and you have a chance to catch it. In Pearl, the game's theme pokemon is Palkia. Platinum, however, had a later release date and has an extra addition featuring a dream-like world where you have to go through many puzzles. It has Palkia,Dialga, And a pokemon called Giratina in it. On top of that, a remix to Pokemon Silver and Gold have been released, and that is currently the newest pokemon game. The Heart Gold/Soul Silver generation also features a step counter-like device that trains your pokemon as you walk around (or just shake the thing 'till your arm gets tired) So if I were you, I would ask for one of both new generations for christmas, and hope for the best.|||pokemon diamond and pearl have differences. pearl's main legendary pokemon is palkia while diamond's is dialga. platinum's is giratina and the pokedex of platinum is larger than pearl and diamond.|||they are both in the same generations/world. they just have slightly different pokemon and platinum has the full battle frontier|||Mostly the look of the overworld and a slight difference in storyline.|||Platinum has giratina, dialga, palkia.
