What does it mean when a diamond is Canadian?
I'm sure it comes from Canada or whatnot, but is it worth more? Better diamond? Thanks!|||Obviously it's from Canada. But I don't think that it would be worth more. I think diamond is classification and if it doesn't have flaws the bigger the carat the more valuable.|||It's supposed to ensure that, being from Canada, it's not a "blood diamond" (i.e. one that funds wars in Africa).|||A Canadian Diamond is just that, a diamond from Canada. Canada isn't exactly known for their diamonds or anything. What determines a diamonds value are the 4 C's, cut, carat, clarity and color. Lab created diamonds are worth squat so beware there. Where it is from is very much secondary. Many diamonds come from Africa, I know of two diamond mines operating in Canada but it was only in the last 15 years that diamonds were even found in Canada.|||Many diamonds come from 3rd world countries where they are mined and controlled by cartel. These have been come to be know as blood diamonds. Many need peace of mind when purchasing a diamond and so location of discovery is becoming more popular.|||It comes without the stigma that can be attached to African diamonds. Often, African diamonds are used to finance warfare and other cruelties, while Canadian diamonds (also called snow diamonds or polar bear diamonds) are not.|||it depends on its size, say i had a 24 carrot dimond from america and a 24 carrot dimond from canadia, the canadian dimond would be worth about $800 while the american would only be worth about $500. mail me for any further questions on this subject.|||Canadian Diamonds are found in Northern Regions of the country, primarily in the North West Territories. They're classified as Canadian Diamonds simply to show their origin as some people wont obtain diamonds from other locations based on multiple reasons.
